MIEKA Bio
My name is Mieka and I am 15 years old. I have been with my mother agency Liz Bell for more than 2 years after being scouted while visiting a friend’s equestrian centre by photographer Candace Meyer. I have been working locally, doing campaigns, promotional events, creatives, and design school collections. I love runway, and have walked in many shows, from bridal to design school to local fashion weeks.
My favorite part about modelling is being able to help bring an artist’s vision to life. I love meeting and working with the many creative and talented people in the industry, and find it rewarding to help make their vision a reality.
Outside of modelling, I am a dedicated honour roll student. Despite my height I don’t play volleyball or basketball; I am terrible at both. Instead I do several hours of ballet, contemporary and other styles of dance each week. It’s challenging, creative and helps keep me flexible and toned. I also enjoy drama, singing, skiing, camping, reading, and my pet cats.
Mute_Mutate is a fashion collection inspired by Russian artist El Lissitzky.
I combined a white and blue square pattern cotton fabric for the top with raw linen fabrics for the bottom. I used wood veneer as boning in order to achieve the structural form. The organic simplicity of the colors enhanced the constructed nature of the design.
