JOYCE Bio

My name is Joyce Leung, and I am a senior student at Little Flower Academy in Vancouver, BC.

The challenge I received was to create a garment entirely out of newspaper, and the word “transformation” served as my instigator. When I relate newspaper to fashion, they are both incredibly fast-paced and have to continuously present new material to thrive. Last season’s collections are basically old news.

I find that with fast fashion comes a stifling of personality as people become so involved in obtaining the latest trends. Hence, I aimed to construct a piece which valued creativity and innovation.

Throughout my entire life, I have been extremely invested in art. Since a young age, my parents have enrolled me in drawing class after drawing class. Fashion became a gradual passion and now encompasses a huge portion of who I am. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, I hope to become both a successful business woman and an artist.

As I leave high school and a new milestone approaches, my wish is to be able to apply my love for aesthetics in whatever I do.

MARGARITA Bio

Agency | Lizbell Agency Vancouver Canada www.lizbellagency.com

I am 16 years old and was originally born in Klaipeda, Lithuania. I moved to Canada at a very young age. I am fluent in Russian, French and English. Over the years I have been immersed in countless cultures, lifestyles, languages and countries thanks to my parent’s love for travel.

At the age of five I began playing tennis, and now I am travelling across the globe to compete in various tournaments. Tennis has taught me how to be self disciplined, self motivated and how to always get back on the court no matter how big the previous loss or victory.

Modelling has recently became a big part of my life since I submitted my snapshots to Ford models. They recommended me to the wonderful Lizbell agency in Vancouver to act as my mother agent and develop my career. I am now placed with Ford NY and Paris as well. Modelling has opened my eyes in every aspect of my life, and I have come to uncover the hidden side of the industry – the actual time, work and commitment needed to succeed.

From a young age I would always revel the thought of one day being a model, being the new face on the cover of Vogue, or walking down the runway in New York. But I had never imagined that my life would so unexpectedly turn around, and face me with opportunities that could potentially bring those dreams to reality. And for this I have my family to thank for their unconditional love and support, no matter how extravagant my dreams have found to be.
