KAT Marcus / Hair Stylist

Otium, a Latin abstract term, has a variety of meanings, including leisure time in which a person can enjoy eating, playing, resting, contemplation and academic endeavors.

We were inspired by scenes and body language from renaissance paintings, but viewed through the lense of modern women.

Kat Marcus is Hairdresser and Art Director from Toronto Canada. She is a partner at Palm Sunday which is a salon and spa developing a creative agency from within. We are a contemporary space that respects the art of service, while nurturing abstract thinking, and fostering creativity ourselves and others. The space was created to challenge the culture of hair salons, by inspiring our stylists to approach clients the same way one references for fashion. When it comes to behind the camera, Kat loves to art direct, cast and help define the overall aesthetic, and purpose of the shoot. She has a strong point of view that is inspired by what she perceives as real. Her aesthetic is informed by politics, human rights, art, night life, and street fashion.
